Richard A. Hagen

October 15, 1951 — December 29, 2022

Richard A. Hagen, 71, passed away in his sleep in his Plover, Wisconsin home on the morning of December 29th, 2022, after battling health issues for several months. Richard was born on October 15, 1951, in LaCrosse, Wisconsin to Donald and Angie (Clements) Hagen.

Richard married Nancy Johnson 51 years ago. They had two children: Tami (Brad) Schneider, and Craig Hagen. Together, they were blessed with four granddaughters: Marley, Mackenzie, Addison, and Payten. Richard is also survived by his siblings: Jim (Julie) Hagen, Wayne (Pat) Hagen, Diane (David) Stellner, Bev (Harlan) Reschke, Chris (Diane) Hagen, Nancy (Doug) Bean, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Steve and Eric Hagen.

While growing up on his family’s farm in Chaseburg, Wisconsin, Richard established a dedicated work ethic. From this, he began his professional career in 1971 working at Firestone in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. With being a valued employee in LaCrosse, he was promoted to manage Green Bay’s Firestone.  With the success of building a prosperous store in Green Bay, Richard was transferred to Stevens Point to rebuild yet another Firestone store.  Due to his successful career in all of the Firestone stores, Richard earned many awards for exceptional performance until he retired in 2006. While at Firestone, he developed many lifelong friendships.

In his free time, Richard enjoyed spending time at his daughter and son-in-law’s cottage in Michigan, fishing trips in Canada, golfing with friends, delivering flowers, and cherishing every moment with his four granddaughters. Almost every day, Richard would volunteer his services at Highland Church in Plover. He helped out with a multitude of projects. Richard always seemed to brighten people's day with his smile. Highland Church was also where he bonded with his church brothers. His family would like to thank those “brothers”.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 14th, 2023 at Middle Coon Valley Lutheran Church in Coon Valley, Wisconsin.  A visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until service time.  The Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley is assisting the family.
