Jeannie Marie Skala

Jeannie Marie (Garstka) Skala, 67, of Holmen, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 29, 2023. She was born on November 20, 1955 to Eugene and Dolores Garstka. Jeannie married Joseph Skala on November 3, 1994. Jeannie enjoyed crocheting since she was a child. She learned the craft from her grandmother. Using this talent, she kept many babies and adults cozy and warm through the years. Jeannie is survived by her husband Joseph, one sister Lyn (Carl) Anderson, sons; Brian (Laura) Bozek and Eric (Donna Ellefson) Bozek, step-children; Machelle (Tom) Rothstein and Jason (Shelly) Skala, grand-children; Sara (George) Robertson, Brian Bozek Jr., Lexie Bozek, Colin Bozek, Mark Bozek, Michael Rothstein, Brittany Rothstein, Alyssa Skala and Alyson Skala, and one nephew Michael (Gwendolyn) Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents. A celebration of her life will be held in Illinois at a later date. Great River Cremation, La Crosse is assisting the family.
