Daniel R. Nickelatti

April 6, 1989 — May 3, 2020

On Sunday, May 3, 2020, Daniel Ray Nickelatti, loving son, brother and uncle, passed away at his home unexpectedly at the age of 31 years. Daniel was born to Tom and Karen (Schlicht) Nickelatti on April 6, 1989 attending DeSoto High School and graduating in 2007. While in high school he was an avid football player and wrestler.

Daniel was a kind soul and avid collector of gemstones and crystals believing in their healing properties that help to balance the body, mind, and spirit. He had always dreamed of being an organic farmer, frequently growing his own fruits, vegetables, raising organic chickens and even sold some at local farmers markets. He enjoyed living in the country and would take hikes throughout the woods to be one with nature, oftentimes bringing his four-legged pal, Buddy.

He enjoyed going camping with his family on trips to Goose Island, Blackhawk, Hatfield or even as far away as the Black Hills and Yellowstone. Those were memories he always cherished. Daniel also enjoyed his many  hunting and fishing trips with his dad, whether it was the annual deer hunt, squirrel hunting, or out on the river, South Dakota, or big rig fishing for salmon on Lake Michigan, it was always a great time. He looked forward to family vacations to Hayward,

Eau Claire, and Door County because he was able to explore someplace new.

Daniel will be forever remembered by his sisters Crystal (Chad) Everson and Melissa (Dan) Schlupp, his nephews Hunter Everson and Wyatt Schlupp, and by his loving parents Tom and Karen Nickelatti.  Daniel will also be remembered by his grandmothers JoAnn Nickelatti and Isabel Schlicht and numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ray Nickelatti, and maternal grandparents Stan and Zelma Schlicht.

"I am connected to all that is around me. This connection gives me a strong foundation and does not hold me back. Security and stability in life allow me to move with both confidence and connect to who I am."

An intimate celebration of life will be held at a future date for close family. The Seland Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences may be given at selandsfuneralhome.com.
