Arlene G. Davidson

June 29, 1924 — March 14, 2018

Arlene Grace Davidson, age 93, of Esofea, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Vernon Memorial Hospital, in Viroqua, WI.

She was born on June 29, 1924, to Robert and Alida (Role) Skaaland, rural Chaseburg.

Before getting married, she worked in La Crosse at Trane Company.  On February 12, 1947, she married Delbert Davidson.  They were married in Viroqua by Rev. O.M. Kleven.  During their 44 years of marriage, they worked hard farming and raising their family.  Later, Delbert did carpentry work and was a house painter.  Arlene was a homemaker who  enjoyed doing things for her family and friends.  Delbert passed away on May 4, 1991.  Arlene continued living in their home in Esofea until her time of death.

One of her favorite things to do in the spring and summer was to plant and tend to her flowers.  She loved staying busy and loved doing things for others.  She was a very sweet-natured, loving, and kind person.  The world was a kinder and gentler place with her in it.  Family, home, and church meant so much to her.  She was a life-long member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Esofea.  She was a Milwaukee Brewers fan and enjoyed watching them on TV and had also attended several games in Milwaukee.

At the age of 82, she took her first airplane trip.  She and her son, Craig, and her daughter, Cindy, flew to Norway where they enjoyed the stunning views of the fjords, and the total beauty of the country.

Arlene is survived by her children:  Dianne (George) McKibbin, Esofea;  Dennis (Linda) Davidson, Madison, WI; Cindy Stellner, Bell Center, WI; and Craig, Esofea.  Grandchildren:  Jeff Davidson, Jamie (Mark) Mathison, Shannon Stellner, Shawn (Christy) Stellner, Nate Stellner, Ryan Stellner, Adam (Carissa) McKibbin, and Mark McKibbin.  Great-Grandchildren:  Hannah & Jared Mathison; Adelaide & Monty McKibbin; and Grace & Samantha Stellner.  She is also survived by her brother, Reuben Skaaland, Eau Claire, WI, and sister-in law, Denise Skaaland, Viroqua, WI, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her husband, Delbert, Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Sarah Stellner, son-in-law, Duane Stellner, sister Evanelle Jacobson, and brothers, Robert and James Skaaland, brother-in-law, Harlan Jacobson and sister-in-law, Jacque Skaaland.

Blessed be the memory of Arlene Davidson.
