Vivian L. Beitlich

Vivian L. Beitlich, 90, of Stoddard, died Saturday August 25, 2012 at Hillview Healthcare Center in La Crosse. She was born March 2, 1922 to Phillip and Irma (Schnick) Krause. Vivian was baptized on May 2, 1922 and confirmed June 2, 1935 by Rev. E.H. Palechek at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chaseburg. She married Wilbert Beitlich on January 24, 1942 also at St. Peter's by Rev. Harold Backer. The couple farmed their married life in the Town of Bergen, rural Stoddard. Wilbert died May 10, 1994.

Vivian dearly loved her family and also her church family at St. Matthew's in Stoddard where she was a member and active in Ladies Aid. Vivian also enjoyed baking an angel food cake for everyone's birthday.

Survivors include one daughter, JoAnne Beitlich of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sons, Willard and David (Julie) both of Stoddard and Orin (Melinda) of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Andrew (Angie) Beitlich, Tanya (Brian) Hall, Thomas, Justin and Bobbie Jo Beitlich and Matthew and Nicholas Beitlich; five great grandchildren, Austin, Cody, and Carter Beitlich, Jayse Beitlich and Lucille Hall; one brother Ralph Krause; one brother-in-law Lester Wrobel; many nieces and nephews and special friends Richard and Donna Bakken, Nancy Volden and Leona Berg.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a stillborn infant daughter in 1944, a stillborn infant son in 1949.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday August 30, 2012 at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stoddard. Rev. Phillip Arnold will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time.
