Todd M. King

Todd Michael King, age 60, of Coon Valley, passed away at home on May 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous four-year battle with cancer.

Born on May 24, 1965, in La Crosse, Todd was the beloved son of Raymond and Karen (Shoemaker) King. He grew up in Coon Valley and graduated from Westby Area High School with the Class of 1983. On September 14, 1996, Todd married Fawn, daughter of Gale and Sandra Ross.

Todd devoted his life to farming and spent more than 40 years doing what he loved most - caring for the land and milking cows. Farming was not just his livelihood, but his passion and way of life. After retiring from milking cows, Todd worked in maintenance for the Westby Area School District.

Todd will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kind heart, quick sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. He found joy in the simple things: spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing, relaxing on the pontoon, and making memories with those he loved most. Whether lending a helping hand or sharing a laugh, Todd had a way of making people feel welcomed and cared for.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Fawn; son, Cody; daughter, Jessica (son-in-law Brent Amann); parents, Raymond and Karen; siblings, Shelley, Terry, and Stacie; sister-in-law Fay; uncle, Dennis (Rosalie) Shoemaker; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grace Viner Shoemaker, Knute Aakre, Sylvester King, Mabel King, and Ben Shoemaker; and his uncles, Jim (Mary) King, and Sylvester Jr. (Janet) King.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, at 11:00 a.m. at Coon Valley Lutheran Church, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. A celebration of Todd’s life will follow at the Venue in the Valley from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Seland Funeral Home is assisting the family. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Mayo Clinic Health System and Agrace Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided throughout Todd’s journey.

Todd’s memory will live on in the fields he worked, the stories shared at family gatherings, and in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Chaseburg Area Cancer Walk or Melanoma Cancer Research in remembrance of Todd.
