Taylor Alix Hermeier - mom, daughter, sister and friend died suddenly as a result of a car accident Friday November 21st. Born May 19th, 1991 to Nicki Whisler and Glenn Hermeier, Taylor was the first pride and joy of both families.
Taylor’s early years were spent in Stoddard and then Chaseburg, loving life living on the farm raising her 4-H animals and her horse Champion, spending time with her siblings at their grandparents’ making “salads” from the garden or playing dress up and fear factor, camping, anything outdoors Taylor loved.
She attended Stoddard Elementary before moving to the Westby school district where she graduated in 2009.
Taylor went on to different careers, her last being a Scrum Master in IT but her most fulfilling careers over time were when she was caring for others at companies such as APTIV and ABLE, which was obvious knowing Taylor.
Taylor had many personal accomplishments including reaching the peaks of a 14er in Colorado, solo, but her most prideful times were being a mom to Olive. When her and Olive were together there was always a memory being made and an adventure being had, she was an amazing mom. She had a way of making every moment brighter. Being around her meant leaving with a belly ache from laughing, a new piece of knowledge to carry with you, and a heart fuller than when you arrived. If you started the day as the shy one in the corner, you ended it on the pedestal in the room. If you met Taylor, you were her best friend.
Taylor is survived by a family that loved her more than she could ever imagine: her daughter Olive Hanamann, parents Nicki Dayton and Brian Dayton, siblings Mackenzi (Jonah Epstein), Grant (Miranda) Dayton, Carter Dayton, Cole (Alexis Fortney) Dayton, nephew Anders Epstein, cousin/sister Kallie Kilmer and cousin Gracie Whisler; many wonderful aunts, uncles and cousins and a countless number of friends; paternal family: Glenn and Michelle Hermeier, Zach Hermeier, Paige Gregg, Christina (Will) Kogel, Steven Hradek and grandparents Gary and Dianne Hermeier.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday November 26, 2025 at the Middle Coon Valley Lutheran Church with Rev. Meg Hoversten officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 1 p.m. until service time. The Seland Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences may be given at selandsfuneralhome.com.
The family would like to thank everyone dear to them for their continued support in these unfathomable days and the days to come. In honor of Taylor, we simply ask you extend her empathy to someone who may need a little extra sunshine today, be the rainbow connection to make millions of people happy as she did every day.
