Stephen M. Sapuder

October 24, 1943 — July 22, 2015

Stephen M. Sapuder, 71, of La Crosse died Wednesday July 22, 2015 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He was born October 24, 1943 in Sparta to Stephen A. and Doris (Abrahamson) Sapuder. Stephen served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965 mostly in Great Falls, Montana. He worked at Boeing Co. in Seattle, WA for 37 years. On October 8, 1988 he married Donna Christianson Koula in Leavenworth, WA. The couple moved to La Crosse in 2004. Stephen enjoyed hockey, women's tennis, the Green Bay Packers and jazz music.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; a daughter Christine Sapuder of Tacoma, WA; a son Michael (Joy) Sapuder of Auburn, WA; a step daughter Shelly (Steve) Engh of Coon Valley; 2 step grandchildren Jordan Bullock and Zack Bolstad; 3 sisters, Jackie, JoAnn and Pat and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepson Shawn.

He will be greatly missed.

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday July 29, 2015 at the Chaseburg Park shelter. Military honors will be conducted at 6 p.m
