Scott L. Bentzen

Scott L. Bentzen, 45, of Viroqua, died Thursday June 30, 2011 at his home. He was born September 12, 1965 in La Crosse to Nicholas and Carol (Hess) Bentzen. Scott graduated from Westby High School in 1983 and entered the U.S. Air Force in July that year. He served until 1992 in Texas, Japan and the last 4 years at KI Sawyer AFB in Michigan. Scott married Chiko Kinjo in Okinawa, Japan on August 1, 1986. Following his military service, he worked as a jailer at the La Crosse County jail and then was International Shipping Supervisor at Trane Co. in La Crosse. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Free Church in Viroqua.

Scott enjoyed gardening, singing, listening to music and weight lifting. He loved spending time with his family. Scott was a wonderful husband and father.

Survivors include his wife, Chiko, 3 sons Nick of Viroqua, Mike of Madison and Andy of Viroqua; one brother Curt (Bonnie) and his niece Megan all of Virginia Beach, Virginia and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick on September 1, 2007 and Carol on October 28, 2000.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday July 5, 2011 at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Viroqua. Pastor Rich Maurer will officiate. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
