Sandra "Sandy" K. Mathison

Sandra "Sandy" K. Mathison, 67, of Coon Valley and formerly of Chaseburg died Tuesday November 10, 2009 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse from injuries following a fall in her home. She was born February 16, 1942 to Martin and Alma (Myhre) Ostrem in Chaseburg. She graduated from Westby High School in 1960. Sandy married Richard Mathison on June 24, 1967. Richard died November 18, 2008. She enjoyed going for walks and Wednesday morning breakfast with Karen Jaeger. Sandy was an active member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chaseburg.

Survivors include 3 sons, Marty (Sarah) and Timothy (Tami) both of Chaseburg and Jeremy of Coon Valley; 6 grandchildren Adam Mueller, Noah and Connor, Taylor, Hunter and Molly Mathison; 2 brothers Harley (Gloria) Ostrem of Chaseburg and Gene (Mary) Ostrem of Sparta; 4 sisters Jan Kirkwood of Sioux Center, Iowa, Nancy (Verlin) Hively of Orange, Calif., Betty Elsen of Hager City, Wis. and Judy (Gary) Warner of Tucson, Arizona and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Vaughn Ostrem.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday November 14, 2009 at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chaseburg with Rev. Steven Oldre officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be given to St. Peter's Church.
