Pauline M. Johnson

Pauline M. Johnson, 73, of La Crosse and formerly of Coon Valley, died Sunday February 6, 2011 at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse. She was July 10, 1937 in La Crosse County to Paul and Josephine (Smithlin) Weiland. She graduated from Aquinas High School in 1956. Pauline married Orin S. Johnson on April 8, 1967 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in La Crosse. Orin preceded her in death on June 13, 2009. They had no children. Pauline enjoyed playing euchre, bingo and going to the casino.

Survivors include a niece Lynn (Weiland) and Bruce Bandt of Janesville and their children Johnathan and Meghann; a nephew John D. and Cherry Weiland of Roanoke, Indiana and their children Brittany, Shelby, Drew and Justin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Leo and Sharon Johnson of West Salem, Harold and Lorraine Johnson of Westby and LeRoy Danielson of Osseo and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother Robert Weiland, a twin brother Paul in infancy and three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday February 11, 2011 at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in La Crosse. The Rev. Douglas Robertson will officiate with burial in LaCrosse Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 11:30 until service time at the church. The Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley is assisting the family. Memorials may be given to the charity of choice.
