Paul L. Martin, 91, of Onalaska died Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse.

Paul was born in Crawford County, WI on June 26, 1925 to Orland and Eva (Knaus) Martin. On December 4, 1946, he married Doris Nelson at Five Points Lutheran Church, Blue River, WI. , and they recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with their family. Paul spent many years as a cheesemaker in various rural cheese plants. He and his family relocated to Newburg's Corners in 1964 where they were well known for their prize winning cheddar cheese and cheese curds.

Paul is survived by his wife, Doris; two children, Dennis (Lois) of Holmen, WI, and Deborah Sedevie (Jim Raddenbach) of Onalaska, WI; three grandchildren, Shelly (John) Martin of Menomonee Falls, WI, Scott (Crystal) Sedevie of Melrose, WI, and Kari (David) Lemke of Victoria, MN; five great-grandchildren, Connor Martin, Maxton and Madisyn Sedevie, and Nathan and Katelyn Lemke. He is further survived by two sisters, Mae Brown of Boscobel, WI and Betty (Richard) Bell of Eastman, WI.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, son Donald, siblings Jack and Olive, and a brother-in-law Jack Brown.

Funeral services for Paul will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church with Pastor Mitzi Miyamoto officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will be at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church Cemetery. Online condolences may be offered at selandsfuneralhome.com.
