Michelle Lynn Hendrickson (Pokrandt), 53, of Westby, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family following a courageous four-year battle with cancer.
Michelle was born on June 18, 1973, to Jean Hass (Pokrandt). On June 6, 1992, she married Mark Hendrickson, and together they built a life centered around family, love, and 34 years of marriage.
Michelle was an adoring grandmother to Leighton, Aylah, and Dresden. She brought the same patience, kindness, and love to being a grandma that she had given her own children, and her grandchildren held an incredibly special place in her heart.
Michelle’s caring nature extended beyond her own family. She spent approximately 25 years working in daycare and childcare, dedicating much of her life to caring for children with the same patience and compassion that came so naturally to her.
Michelle is survived by her husband, Mark Hendrickson; her four children, Darien Hendrickson, Nicholas (Rebecca) Hendrickson, Austen Hendrickson, and Jascelyn (Jayden) Hendrickson (Johnson); and her beloved grandchildren, Leighton Hendrickson, Aylah Hendrickson, and Dresden Hendrickson.
She is further survived by her mother, Jean Hass; her brothers, Thomas (Kimberly) Pokrandt and Michael (Tina) Pokrandt; as well as extended family, friends, and the many people whose lives she touched throughout the years.
Michelle will be remembered for her kindness, patience, creativity, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. More than anything, she will be remembered in the countless little pieces of herself she leaves behind—the advice she gave, the conversations that lasted late into the night, the traditions she created, and the love she gave so freely.
A visitation “Celebration of Life” will be Thursday, September 10 from 4-6 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley. Burial will be Friday, September 11th at Our Savior’s Cemetery in Westby at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to support the family may contribute to the family’s upcoming fundraiser to assist with Michelle’s final expenses and support her family following her passing.
