Michael C. Willer

Michael C. Willer, 71, Pardeeville and formerly of Coon Valley died Tuesday February 1, 2011 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse following a battle with liver cancer. He was born October 18, 1939 in La Crosse to Hans and Cecelia (Servais) Willer. Mike served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1957 to December 1960 with the last 6 months in the crash crew. On September 30, 1961 he married Shirley Strittmater in La Crosse. Mike farmed in Curtis and then Coon Valley and was employed in ceramic tile installation for over 40 years. He also worked at the FS Feed Mills in both Curtis and Coon Valley.

Survivors include his wife Shirley of Pardeeville; one daughter Kathy (Craig) Richards of La Crosse; one granddaughter Alexis; 4 brothers Richard (Joanne) of Burlington, Fred (Donna), Gerald (Pam) Terry (Debra) all of La Crosse; a sister Mary (Russell) Gallagher of La Crosse; special friends Lester and Lee Ann Wiese and sons Dakota and Hunter of Brule, Wisc., and Jim and Gail Barton of Rockford, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister Carol Jean.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday February 5, 2011 at Trinity United Church of Christ in Mormon Coulee. Rev. Tom Uphaus will officiate. Burial with military honors by the Coon Valley American Legion Post #116 will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time. The Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley is assisting the family.
