Mae A. Jacobson, 97, of Viroqua and formerly of Coon Valley, died Sunday February 1, 2026 at Vernon Manor in Viroqua. She was born February 23, 1928 to Olaf and Mabel (Peterson) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church by Rev. Holum. Mae married Kenneth M. Jacobson on July 9, 1949 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Hudson by Rev. Holum.
Mae was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Westby and was a member of the quilting group. She was a former member of the Coon Valley Lutheran Church, WELCA, Rebecca Circle and quilters; a former member of the Coon Valley Legion Auxiliary, the Westby Legion Auxiliary, Norseland Auxiliary and Westby Senior Citizens. In earlier years, she sold Avon and worked at Stockmen’s in Coon Valley. Mae enjoyed playing Bingo and cards, sewing, making quilts for family, baking goodies and visiting with friends and family.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Mavis Campton of Viroqua and Tami Jacobson of Westby; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a brother, Freddie (Irene) Olson of Westby and a sister, Lillian (Kenneth) Leis of Madison; a son-in-law, Buster Swiggum and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband KJ; 2 daughters, Kaye and Beverly; twin boys in infancy; a grandson, Todd; son-in-law David; son-in-law Kim Fossum; a sister and 2 brothers.

A visitation will be held Friday February 6, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley. Private burial will be in the Coon Valley Lutheran Cemetery. Condolences may be given at selandsfuneralhome.com.
