Lois M. Aspeslet

Lois M. Aspeslet, 71, of Coon Valley, died Friday November 26, 2010 at Norseland Nursing Home in Westby. She was born August 30, 1939 in Prairie du Chien to Arthur and Lorraine (DuRusha) Valley.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. Gabriel's in Prairie du Chien, attended Catholic grade school and Prairie du Chien high school.

On August 1, 1959 she married Clifton Aspeslet in Prairie du Chien. The couple lived in West Salem, followed by Melrose for several years before moving to rural Stoddard where they farmed until 1994 when they retired to Coon Valley.

Lois worked for the Village of Coon Valley, the Coon Valley Bank and the Kwik Trip in Coon Valley for several years.

Lois enjoyed crocheting, knitting, making lefse and spending time with her grandkids.

Survivors include her husband Clifton; 3 children Michael (Patricia) of Stoddard, Deborah (Dave) Jackson of La Crosse and Angela Aspeslet (Karl Henrichsen) of Coon Valley, a special daughter Eileen (Randy) Jansen of Spring Lake Park, MN; grandchildren Heidi Hengel, Daniel Hengel, Sara Rowe, Elizabeth Jansen, Crystal Mickelson, Zachary Henrichsen, Alia Henrichsen and Brandt Aspeslet; and one brother Arthur (Jane) Valley of Beloit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Randy in 1978, a daughter Linda in 1975, a daughter Diane in infancy and a grandson Matthew Christoph Wuske Aspeslet in infancy.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday December 1, 2010 at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley with a time of remembrance at 7 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Coon Valley Lions Club or the Wisconsin Parkinson Association, 945 North 12th St. Suite 4602 Milwaukee, WI 53233.
