Linda Lou "Louie" Davidson

Linda Lou “Louie” Davidson, 76 of Madison and formerly of Viroqua, died Saturday January 17, 2026 at her home. She was born August 11, 1949 to Gerald and Agnes (Fish) Thompson in Viroqua. Linda graduated from Viroqua High School in 1967. She married Dennis Davidson on December 14, 1968. Linda worked for the Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation for 45 years. She enjoyed antiquing, thrift stores, gardening, word searches, crocheting and knitting. She was an avid sports fan of the Packers, Badgers and Brewers. Linda loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis; son, Jeff Davidson and daughter Jamie (Mark) Mathison; 2 grandchildren, Hannah (Jarrid) Peterson and Jared Mathison; a sister, Geraldine “Gerri” Steely; a sister-in-law, Cindy Stellner and a brother-in-law, Craig Davidson and many nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter in infancy, Sherry Arlene Davidson; 2 sisters, Marilyn Thompson and Ida Hilgendorf; a niece, Sarah Stellner; a brother-in-law, Duane Stellner; a sister-in-law, Diane (George) McKibbin and a step-father Martin Morkrid.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Esofea. A visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. Rev. Richard Ricker will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. The Seland Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences may be given at selandsfuneralhome.com.
