Leon G. Urbanek

Leon G. Urbanek, 76 of Coon Valley, died Tuesday July 21, 2015 at Norseland Nursing Home in Westby. He was born November 19, 1938 to Leonard and Marie (Baudler) Urbanek. Leon farmed for many years at rural Coon Valley. He married Carol Haynie on October 24, 1992 at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. Leon was an avid tractor collector and enjoyed playing bingo.

Survivors include his wife, Carol of Coon Valley; a step son Ray Haynie and his wife Carol Sorensen of Auburn, Washington; a step daughter Cheryl Reno and a step grandson David Reno both of Garland, Texas; a sister-in-law Phyllis Ender of Eagan, Minnesota and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday July 25, 2015 at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. Rev. Ted Dewald will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time. The Seland Funeral Home, Coon Valley, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Coon Valley Lutheran Church.
