Lenore W. Henley, 99 of Coon Valley, died Tuesday September 2, 2025. She was born in the Town of Coon on February 6, 1926 to William and Lydia (Larsen) Struxness. Lenore was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Esofea. She graduated from Westby High School in 1944 and attended Vocational School in La Crosse. Lenore married Gordon Henley on September 7, 1946. She worked at the La Crosse Trailer Co. followed by Erickson Transport for 28 years and then Kwik Trip for 7 years before retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Coon Valley Lutheran Church where she was active in WELCA, quilting and the funeral committee and the Coon Valley American Legion Auxiliary. Lenore enjoyed baking, reading, puzzles, golf, crocheting, quilting, traveling and any time spent with family and the many summers at their cabin on Lake Mead with family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Gloria (Gary) Freitag; grandchildren, Brandt (Kristin) Freitag, Wendy (Pat) Martin and Shane (Vanessa) Freitag; great grandchildren, Ashley (Jamie) Graw, Nicole (Gerald) Martin, Seth (Tyler) Martin, Tyler (Shannon) Freitag, Ryan (Kelsey) Freitag, Cal (Shelby) Freitag, Brett Freitag, Brooke (Tommy) Borta, Josie, Tess and Sloane Freitag; great great grandchildren, Nakiyah, Naeshawn, Nevyn, Jazmine, Javon, Daxton, Clay, Hartley, Arilyn, Layla, Markus, Riley and Gus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lydia; her husband, Gordon; a brother, Burton; sister, Grace Nordstrom; son-in-law, Jack Freitag, brothers-in-law, Clinton Nordstrom, Orin Ihle and Merv Henley, sisters-in-law, Gladys Ihle and Elinor Henley.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday September 7, 2025 at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. A visitation will be held at the church from 11:30 until service time. Rev. Ben Morris will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. The Seland Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials may be given to the Coon Valley Lutheran Church or the Coon Valley American Legion Auxiliary. A special thank you to the staff at Eagle Crest South and St. Croix Hospice.
