Krin J. (Dreves) Stendalen

Krin Jean (Dreves) Stendalen, 61 of Westby passed away Friday July 31, 2026 after 6 ½ years battling cancer. She was born November 7, 1964 to Theodore and Adeline (Slette) Dreves. Krin graduated from Westby High School in 1983. She went on to graduate from WTC in 1987. From there she worked at State Bank of La Crosse for over 20 years. She then started her own day care. She loved every child that walked through her door and they loved their Krinny. Krin married Gary Stendalen on August 28, 1993 at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. They started their life on Gary’s family farm.

Krin loved Elvis, the Sound of Music, singing “Sweet Caroline”, the Blue Angels, going shopping, family trips to Wisconsin Dells, trips with her GNO gang and spending time with family, especially at holidays. Her pride and joy was being a mother to Eric, Lexi and Trey and being a grandma to Kane and Henley.

Survivors include her husband Gary, son, Eric (Emily), daughter, Lexi (Josh Stolte and Kylie), son, Trey; sisters Kari (Marty) Snustead and Kala Dreves (Gail Hanson) and brother, Chris Dreves; honorary sister, Lisa Fawcett; grandchildren Kane and Henley; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Jo Stendalen, sister-in-law, Sharon Amundson; uncles, Fritz Engh, Dewey (Arlene) Dreves and Gordon Dreves and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

She was preceded in death her parents, Theodore and Adeline Dreves and father and mother in-law, Edwin and Irene Stendalen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday August 6, 2026 at the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Rev. Alyssa Weaver will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time. The Seland Funeral Home is assisting the family.
