Kathryn "Kay" A. Sedevie

Kathryn "Kay" A. Sedevie, 81, of LaCrosse and formerly of Coon Valley died Friday January 8, 2010 at Hillview Health Care Center in La Crosse. She was born September 12, 1928 to Louis and Amelia (Paulson) Sather in the town of Washington, La Crosse County.

Kay was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member at Coon Valley Lutheran Church. She graduated from Westby High School in 1946, attended Viterbo University and then graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in La Crosse. Kay worked at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center until retiring in 1990. On August 12, 1950 she was united in marriage to Eugene "Foo" Sedevie in Coon Valley. The couple lived in Coon Valley until moving to La Crosse in 1996. Eugene died June 1, 2000.

Survivors include one son Charles "Chuck" (KathLynn) of Wisconsin Rapids, one daughter Louise (Pat) Lawrynk of La Crosse; one grandson Ryan (Melissa) Sedevie of Madison; one granddaughter Kristen Lawrynk of Crested Butte, Colorado; 2 great grandchildren Madelyn and Gavin Sedevie of Madison; one sister Alice Marie Sather of La Crosse and a sister-in-law Delores (Richard) Tronick of Tallmadge, Ohio.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson Scott, sister and brother-in-law Doris and Homer Peterson and a brother Louis Sather.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday January 12, 2010 at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. Rev. Mitzi Miyamoto and Rev. Jack Mithelman will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time.
