Joyce C. Rundhaugen

Joyce C. Rundhaugen, 79, of Coon Valley passed away peacefully Saturday March 21, 2015 at Lakeview Health Center in West Salem with her daughter by her side. She was born August 16, 1935 to Clarence and Esther (Brown) Anderson in Portland Township, Monroe County. She was baptized and confirmed at Portland Lutheran Church, rural Cashton. Joyce married Alton Rundhaugen on October 24, 1953 at Skogdalen Lutheran Church, rural Westby.

Joyce loved being a mom, grandma and great grandma and spent many years babysitting children in the area and becoming a second mom to many of them. She was a member of the Skogdalen Lutheran Church where she was active in WELCA, the Ruth Circle and quilting. Joyce also enjoyed flower gardening and was an excellent cook.

Survivors include her husband Alton of Coon Valley; a daughter Carol (Mark) Beckerjeck of La Crosse; a grandson Jason (Tiffany) Rundhaugen; 4 great grandchildren Brody, Kinley, Kendlyn and Elidey; and a special daughter-in-law Marsha all of Coon Valley; a sister Erma Graupe and a brother Marvin Anderson, both of Westby and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Larry; and 2 sisters Stella Anderson and La Valle Wangen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday March 26, 2015 at Skogdalen Lutheran Church, rural Westby. Rev. John Dumke will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time.
