Jeffrey "Ranger" Nestingen, 71, of Stoddard passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025. He was born on March 27, 1954, at Ft. Monmouth army base in New Jersey to Richard and Geraldine (Kish) Nestingen. He then resided at the family farm outside Coon Valley, WI. It's the farm with the smiley face barn. Jeff worked for many years at G. Heileman Brewing Company, then Xcel Energy, and lastly University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. At every place of employment, he made many friends that he talked about so much. Jeff's true passion was being outdoors enjoying time in the woods hunting or in his beloved fishing boat in the Stoddard Bay. He is a self-proclaimed sniper in the deer stand and had many memorable moments with his two sons, Peter and Kevin, at his land outside Chaseburg. He enjoyed all the time he got to spend with his grandchildren that he adored so much. He was their "Bumpa". He would do anything for his sons and grandchildren. He also shared many great memories with his lifelong friends Ron "Chickie" Moilien, Rod "Lloyd" Dahlen and his mentor, Marv "Big Dog" Temp. He is survived by his son Peter, and his wife Brittney, with children Ethan and Ella; son Kevin, and his wife Kelly, with children Hallie and Nolan; mother Geraldine (Kish) Nestingen; sisters Renee (Greg) Olson and Rhonda (Michael) Stach; brothers Jed, Steven (Lori) and Eric; and former wife Clarice (Urbanek) Kammel. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Richard Nestingen.
A private family visitation held will be at the Seland Funeral Home with burial in the Coon Valley Lutheran Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday June 29, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Coon Valley American Legion. Condolences may be given at selandsfuneralhome.com.
