Hilaine K. Gilbeck

Hilaine K. Gilbeck, 69, of La Crosse and formerly of Coon Valley died unexpectedly Thursday, May 21, 2015 at her home. She was born August 17, 1945 in Rushford, Minnesota to Clarence and Hilma (Copperud) Berge. She married Cary Gilbeck and they were later divorced. Hilaine worked as a medical secretary for many years at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. She enjoyed sewing, cross stitching and quilting, crossword puzzles and traveling to see her grandchildren. Hilaine also loved the companionship of her many dogs through the years.

Survivors include her son, Jon (Loretta) Gilbeck of Bettendorf, Iowa; daughter Heidi Berge of Caledonia, Minnesota; two grandchildren Elsa and Owen Gilbeck of Bettendorf, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday May 27, 2015 at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. Rev. Mitzi Miyamoto will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be given to the Coon Valley Lutheran Church.
