Harland G. Olson

Harland G. Olson, 92, of rural Viroqua, died Wednesday October 19, 2011 at Vernon Manor in Viroqua. He was born May 17, 1919 at rural Ferryville to Alfred and Zelma (Eskestrand) Olson. Harland farmed his entire life at rural Viroqua. On March 24, 1962 he married Myrtle Hagen at the Kinder Lutheran Church in Kinder, North Dakota. Myrtle died April 27, 1993. Harland was a member of the Gideons, CBMC (Christian Business Men's Committee) and the Bad Axe Lutheran Church for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and thought a lot of his nieces and nephews.

Survivors include 2 sisters-in-law, Bernelle Olson of rural Viroqua and Arla Mae Discher of Clinton, Minnesota and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother Sheldon on May 11, 2011.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday October 22, 2011 at Bad Axe Lutheran Church in Purdy rural Viroqua. Rev. Don Greven will officiate with burial in Southwest Prairie Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until service time. The Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley is assisting the family. Memorials are preferred to the charity of your choice.
