Glen A. "Junior" Warner

November 29, 1931 — August 31, 2016

Glen A. "Junior" Warner, 84, of rural Viroqua, died Wednesday August 31, 2016 at his home. He was born November 29, 1931 in La Crosse to Glen and Anita (Schaldach) Warner. He graduated from Viroqua High School in 1950. Glen served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1952. He married Joyce Hertzfeldt in 1963 and they were later divorced. Glen lived in Kenosha and worked at American Motors for 30 years. He retired in 1988 and moved back to Newton, rural Viroqua.

Glen was an excellent baseball player and played for various teams throughout the years both locally and in Kenosha. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, polka music and dancing and helping his neighbors. He also was caretaker of the Huxley, Krause and Newton cemeteries for many years. He was a member of the Chaseburg American Legion Post #202.

Survivors include his daughter Gwen Fellers (Bill Lehmann) of rural Viroqua; a step son, Virgil Trocinski if Galesville; 3 grandchildren, Beverly (Adam) Bakkestuen of Westby, Lee Trocinski of Winona and Amy Trocinski of Arcadia; 3 great grandchildren, Dakota, Mason and Owen Bakkestuen; 2 brothers, Gale (Judy) and Stewart Warner; a sister, Jean Carrillo and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday September 6, 2016 at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley. Burial will be in the Huxley Cemetery in Newton Valley, rural Viroqua with military honors by the Chaseburg American Legion Post #202. Online condolences may be offered at selandsfuneralhome.com. Memorials may be given to the Chaseburg Legion Park or the Warner Park Fund.
