Gary D. Hohlfeld

Gary D. Hohlfeld, 51 of Coon Valley died Saturday May 29, 2010 at his home. He was born October 19, 1958 in La Crosse to Albert and Stella (Haugen) Hohlfeld. He graduated from Westby High School in 1977. Gary farmed on the home farm until 2001. He then worked for Hemstock Block and the past 8 years has worked at Crest Precast in La Crescent. In 2002 he married Debbie Anderson and they later divorced. Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, traveling and working with concrete.

Survivors include his parents, Albert and Stella Hohlfeld, two brothers Greg (Dawn) of Stoddard and Dennis Hohlfeld of Coon Valley; two sisters Gail (Tim) Schams of Coon Valley and Nancy (Roger) Peters of Chaseburg; nieces and nephews Kyle Gilbertson of Rochester, Minn., Keith Gilbertson of Atlanta, Georgia, Kate (Pat) Boos of Chippewa Falls, Mandy and Molly Schams of Coon Valley, Andrew and Dan Hohlfeld of Stoddard, Brad Peters of Coon Valley and Russell Peters of Chaseburg; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother Scott Anthony in 1972.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday June 2, 2010 at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Rev. Wayne Kidd will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, rural Coon Valley. Memorials are preferred to the family or the charity of your choice.
