Frederick C. Brozyna Jr.

Frederick Brozyna Jr., 60, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on September 19, 2026.

Fred was born on July 13, 1966, in La Grange, Illinois, to JoAnn and Frederick Brozyna Sr. He graduated from Central High School in La Crosse in 1985.

Fred married Lisa Starch, and together they welcomed their daughter, Crystal, in 1987. Although they later divorced, they remained friends throughout the years.

Fred was happiest when he was behind the wheel of a semi or truck. Known to many as “Hard Runner” and “Fast Freddie,” trucking was more than just a job, it was something he truly loved, as long as he was driving a stick shift. He began his trucking career hauling milk before eventually joining Potato King. He worked at Potato King for 27 years and continued to do what he loved until the time of his passing.

Outside of work, Fred enjoyed hunting, UTV'ing, buying new trucks and, most of all, spending time with his many friends and family. He was a hard worker, loyal friend and kind-hearted person who was always happiest when he was surrounded by the people he cared about, especially while enjoying a Bloody Mary, a beer or an Ole Smokey.

His grandchildren were his everything. Fred cherished every moment with his grandsons, Blake and Jace, and they will forever carry the memories of the time they shared with their grandpa.

Fred is survived by his daughter, Crystal (Tony) Becker; his two grandchildren, Blake and Jace; and many friends and extended family who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, JoAnn, in 2002, and Frederick Sr., in 2017.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley. A private family burial will take place on Thursday. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with additional details to come.
