Frank G. Mangin

March 3, 1956 — August 11, 2017

Frank G. Mangin, 61, went home to be with his Savior in the wee hours of the morning on Friday August 11, 2017, at his home in Sparta, WI, surrounded by his children and his wife.

He was born in Trenton, NJ on March 3, 1956, to John and Mildred Mangin(Morelli).

Frank grew up in the Catholic church. He was baptized again as an adult at Living Faith Church in Viroqua, WI. Most recently he was a member of Grace Evangelical Free Church in Viroqua, WI.

He joined the Army from January 30, 1978 through January 29, 1981. He was stationed in Schofield Barracks in Hawaii for all 3 years. He then completed an Associate's degree in computer science at Hesser College.

Frank and Debi (Helstrom) Mangin were wed on November 29, 1986, in Whitinsville, MA. They lived for two years in North Andover, MA, where Frank worked at Modicon as a technical trainer. Then they moved to Whitinsville where they began to build their home in nearby East Douglas, where he worked briefly at LTX prior to returning to Modicon. In 1994, Frank began working for Allen Bradley Corporation in Marlboro, MA, and the family lived in Brookfield. In 1997 he began working for Yaskawa Electric Corp., leading them to move to Lindenhurst, IL, in 1998 and during that time he finished his Bachelor's degree in business administration at Trinity International University. He was eventually laid off for 2 years, when he started working as an independent contractor for Watlow in Richland, IL, and this eventually led to his job with Watlow in Winona, MN, as a technical writer/training specialist for the past 13 years.

Frank enjoyed spending time with his family, biking and hunting, and most recently shooting sports. Although Frank enjoyed many of these things, he wanted his life to be centered completely on his relationship with Jesus Christ as the Savior of his soul. His life was changed by the power of God and he greatly desired that everyone would come to a true knowledge of a deep and personal relationship with Jesus. Frank lived a life of quiet service to those he loved, and though he is no longer here on this earth, the life he lived will be cherished and remembered in the hearts of his family and friends.

Frank is proceeded in death by his mother Mildred (Morelli) Mangin, his sister Theresa McNamara, and his father John Mangin. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, and his children Bethany, Cameron and Mercy, as well as his brothers John Mangyn, Fred Mangin and his children Freddy, Julie, and Andrew, and grandson Jackson; his brother-in-law Peter McNamara, and his daughter Elizabeth (McNamara) McCaron, as well as Debi's parents Barbara and Ralph Helstrom, her brothers and sisters-in-laws David and Tammy Helstrom and Eric and Heidi Helstrom and their children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday August 19, 2017 at the Viroqua Church of Christ. Pastor Rich Mauer will officiate. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until service time. The Seland Funeral Home of Coon Valley is assisting the family.
