Florence F. Larson

Florence F. Larson, 97, of La Crosse and formerly of Coon Valley, died Tuesday April 21, 2015 at Hillview Health Care Center in La Crosse. She was born July 21, 1917 in Minot, N.D. to Frank and Emma (Martin) Rach. Florence was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chaseburg where she was a lifelong member. In July 1934 she married Carl "Charlie" Kopplen and they were blessed with two children. Florence was a dedicated farm wife and also worked several years at the Coon Valley School. She bestowed her values of faith and love as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include two children, Charles (Delores) Kopplen of La Crosse and Phyllis (Allen) Asmus of Holmen; four grandchildren Randy (Michelle) Asmus of Bloomington, MN, Brian Asmus of Holmen, Kim (John) Harnish of Coon Valley and Paula (Andrew) Elwer of La Crosse; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Frank (Doris) Rach of Chaseburg and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, Charlie Kopplen, Jordahl Ekern and Milton Larson; three brothers, Raymond, Donald and James Rach; a sister Mildred Martin and a nephew Norman Martin.

Blessed be the memory of Florence and may she rest in eternal peace.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday April 24, 2015 at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chaseburg. Rev. Jonathan Rimmert will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
