Eunice H. Albrecht

Eunice H. Albrecht, 96 of La Crescent, MN, passed away July 5, 2017 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. She was born July 30, 1920 to Julius and Ellen (Hanson) Rudie on the home farm on the south ridge of Coon Valley. Eunice was baptized and confirmed at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in La Crosse for many years and the last few years returned to her home church in Coon Valley. Eunice graduated from Viroqua High School and attended Coleman Vocational School and was employed by Gundersen Clinic as a medical secretary for the next 43 years. Eunice married Robert H. Albrecht on October 5, 1944 and together they raised 5 children. After retirement, Eunice volunteered at Gundersen Clinic and La Crescent Elementary School and spent numerous hours helping her older brother and sister. She and Bob traveled to Europe, Canada, the western states and Florida. Bob passed away April 26, 1994.

Surviving are her children, Ellen Elmer of Tomah, Michael (Ruth) Albrecht of La Crescent, MN, Jeffrey (Beth) Albrecht of Pensacola, FL, Daniel (Lynn) Albrecht and Mary (Jerry) Miller both of La Crescent; her grandchildren, Dean (Kristin) Elmer, Karrie (Randy) Scholze, Robert Albrecht (Tina Fishel), Jennifer (Nick Bissen) Albrecht, Angela (Kamran) Basharat, Jeffrey Albrecht Jr. (Richard Martin), Nathan (Krissy) Albrecht, Tim Harger, Jennifer Reuss (Kevin), Nicholas (Jennifer) Pinch, Daniel Pinch; her great grandchildren, Cody (Kathryn Gadow) Scholze, Elliot Barnheart, Joshua Albrecht, Azra, Munibah, Sekunder, Isra and Hashim Basharat, Zoe Albrecht, Ashlyn and Sasha Vance, Joe Tans-Elmer, Bella Hurst, Brooklyn Pinch, Jedruik Pinch, Oliver Reuss and Elliott Reuss; 2 sisters-in-law Virginia Larson and Olive Rudie; a brother-in-law Richard Albrecht and many nieces and nephews.

Eunice is also survived by her very special friends Dr. Mary Nelson and Loris Rustad.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, 3 sisters, Beatrice, Evelyn and Jerene (Leif) Erickson; 5 brothers, Jarvis, Lawrence, Kenneth, Edwin (Hazel) and Merlin (Lorraine) Rudie; a son-in-law John Elmer; a niece Dawn (Terry) Koll; and 5 nephews, Ron, Terry, Jerome (Betty) Rudie and Steven and Rick Erickson.
