Dorothy A. Hohlfeld

Dorothy A. Hohlfeld, 66, of Chaseburg, died Wednesday July 15, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. She was born September 23, 1942 to Albert and Audra (Wheeler) Dalsasso in La Crosse. She attended Westby High School. Dorothy married Sylvester Hohlfeld on August 8, 1959 and together they farmed the home farm until 1993. Sylvester died April 28, 2007. One of her greatest joys was taking care of her family and spending time with them. She also enjoyed crocheting.

Survivors include 2 daughters Dianne (Dean) Goede of Viroqua and their children Nicholas Myhre, Mike, Amelia and Jason Goede and Karen (Kris)Aspenson of Ferryville and their children Kris II and Katerina; 6 sons Jerry (Lisa) of Chaseburg and their children Sara (Travis) Seidel, Alan, Avery (Christopher) Welch, Zeke, Ruby, Ira, Titus and one due in December, James (Kay Ann) of Eastman and their children James (Andrea) Troya, Scotty, Kathy Joe, Zephaniah, Jedidiah and Victoria, Jeffry of Bangor, Jay (Kristen) of Chaseburg and their children Joshua, Abigael, Zacchaeus, Anna, Alissa and one due in December, Joel (Tara) of Lexington, Ky. and their children Isaac, Kaitlin and Elizabeth, Jon (Lorie) of Rockland and their children Seth, Jonah and Kaleb; 4 great grandchildren Jesse, Justin and Owen Seidel and Rachael Hohlfeld; a sister Lois Phillips of La Crosse; 3 brothers Edward and Carl Dalsasso of Harrison, MI and John (Elaine) Dalsasso of Friendship, WI; a sister-in-law Beverly (Monroe) Johnson of Cashton and a brother-in-law Albert (Stella) Hohlfeld of Coon Valley and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandchild Traci in infancy, her father and mother-in-law Edwin and Albina Hohlfeld; a brother-in-law Russell Phillips and a sister-in-law Josephine Dalsasso.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday July 20, 2009 at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley. Pastor Rick Sella will officiate with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Coon Valley. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home and at the funeral home on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be given the Kidney Foundation or the church or charity of your choice.
