Donald G. Lenser

April 14, 1921 — July 3, 2011

Donald G. Lenser, 90, of Chaseburg, died after a short illness Sunday July 3, 2011 at Bethany St. Joseph Care Center in La Crosse. He was born April 14, 1921 in Vernon County to Albert and Emma (Hohlfeld) Lenser. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chaseburg. Donald lived on the family farm until 2008 when he moved to an apartment in Chaseburg. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends and loved to do jigsaw puzzles to pass the time. He was a member of St. Peter's Church and the Friends of Chaseburg.

Survivors include his sister Doris (Rueben) Koll of La Crosse; his special niece Linda (Ralph) Ghelf of DeSoto and their children Jennifer Ghelf of Des Moines, Iowa, Heather Ghelf of La Crosse, Amber (Steve) DeCesare of Chicago, Illinois, Nicole (Kevin) Hanson of Stoddard, Adam (Megan) Ghelf of St. Paul Park, Minn., and Ben Ghelf of DeSoto; a special cousin Edna Luedtke of La Crosse and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday July 8, 2011 at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chaseburg. Rev. Steven Oldre will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until service time.
