Dianne L. Becker

Dianne L. Becker, 74, of Sparta and formerly of Coon Valley passed away peacefully following a 6 month battle with cancer on Wednesday April 24, 2013 at Morrow Memorial Home in Sparta. She was born April 15, 1939 in Coon Valley to John and Ella (Nelson) Jacobson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. Dianne attended elementary school in Coon Valley, graduated from Westby High School and completed a year and a half of a two year program at Vernon County Teachers College. She had worked for over 15 years as a nurse's aid at Norseland Nursing Home in Westby and Vernon Manor in Viroqua. Dianne married Ervin Becker on March 3, 1962. They lived in Coon Valley, Viroqua, La Crosse and Sparta.

Survivors include four sons, Gary (Shari) of Viroqua, Steve (Nancy) of Floyd, Iowa, Brent of Sparta, Ryan (Darol) of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany, Desiree, Dacie; three great grandchildren Kalea, Ayla and Zuri; siblings Ingeborg Remley, Ervin Jacobson, Esther Blair, Rebecca (Orrin) Stakston and Kathy Syverson and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings Alvin "Ollie", Gordon "Butch", Hjalmer, Julius, John Jr. Kenneth, Maline, Thelma, Caroline, Luella and Evelyn.
