David "Bud" J. Hanson

David “Bud” J. Hanson, 91 of rural Coon Valley, died Friday, January 2, 2026 at his home. He was born February 15, 1934 in Bloomingdale to Harry and Jenny (Norlinsky) Hanson. He attended Bloomingdale School and Westby High School. Bud married Marjorie Peterson on November 2, 1968. The couple farmed their married life in Bohemian Valley, La Crosse County. Bud also hauled cattle for 55 years. He was a member of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church.

He is survived by several cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie in 2015 and his parents.

A visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday January 8, 2026 at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley. Burial will be in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Condolences may be given at selandsfuneralhome.com. Memorials may be given to the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church or Cemetery Fund.
