Clifton "Cliff" A. Aspeslet

Clifton "Cliff" A. Aspeslet, 72, of Coon Valley, died Monday August 1, 2011 at Bethany St. Joseph Care Center in La Crosse. He was born October 11, 1938 to Alfred and Edna (Farnam) Aspeslet in the Town of Holland, La Crosse County. He graduated from Holmen High School and then joined the U.S. Army in 1957 and was stationed at Tripper Army Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii where he served as a cook. On August 1, 1959 he married Lois Valley in Prairie du Chien. His date of death would have been their 52nd wedding anniversary. The couple lived in West Salem, followed by Melrose where he ran WA Plumbing and Heating until 1974. They then moved to Stoddard where they farmed until 1994 when they retired to Coon Valley and Cliff sold life insurance.

Survivors 3 children Michael (Patricia) of Stoddard, Debbie(Dave) Jackson of La Crosse and Angela Aspeslet (Karl Henrichsen) of Coon Valley, a special daughter Eileen (Randy) Jansen of Spring Lake Park, MN; grandchildren Heidi Hengel, Daniel Hengel, Sara (John) Rowe, Elizabeth Marsh (Andrew), Crystal Mickelson, Zachary Henrichsen, Alia Henrichsen and Brandt Aspeslet.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lois; one son Randy in 1978, a daughter Linda in 1975, a daughter Diane in infancy and a grandson Matthew Christoph Wuske Aspeslet in infancy.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday August 17, 2011 at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley with a time of remembrance at 7 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Coon Valley Lions or the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Foundation.
