Claremont A. Jacobson

Claremont A. “Jake” Jacobson, 76 of Chaseburg, died Wednesday January 17, 2024 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He was born April 25, 1947 to Clarence and Gilma (Gunderson) Jacobson. He graduated from Westby High School in 1965. Jake married Deanna Torgerson on May 18, 1968 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Westby. His career was a pressman at La Crosse Graphics, but his passion was farming the family farm for over 50 years. He was a proud member and former commander of the Chaseburg American Legion Post #202.

Jake loved farming and his time “behind the desk” at the Co-op. He enjoyed boating, fishing, snowmobiling, and most of all socializing. He was a man who could talk to anyone. A man of many stories and wisdom, for which you would never hear the same story twice. He loved to play euchre, especially with family, a desired partner, always with an ace up his sleeve.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Deanna; son Scott of Chaseburg; daughter, Nicole (Ryan) Christianson of La Crescent; and grandchildren Gavin, Lacey and Sawyer Christianson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; cousin Arvid Jacobson and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Darlene and Jim Sullivan.
