Betty L. Gilbertson

Betty Louise (Bruring) Gilbertson, 99 of Coon Valley, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2024, after a short illness with family at her side.   She was born to Theodore and Louise Bruring on August 21, 1924.  She graduated from LaCrosse Central High School in 1942.  She worked at Trane Company until her marriage to Lester Gilbertson on April 27, 1946, in LaCrosse.  They spent their entire married life in Coon Valley.  Betty was active in the Coon Valley Lutheran Church Women’s organization and she was a charter member of the Sarah Circle.  Betty was also a Vernon County Homemaker member for many years.

Three children were born to this union:  Ina Cunningham of Delavan, WI, Karl (Bonnie) Gilbertson of Viroqua, WI, and Curtis (Gloria) Gilbertson of Northfield, MN.  She has five grandchildren: Ryan Johnson, Sonya (Mike) Gilson, Gena Gilbertson, Chad (Anne) Gilbertson and Maren (Zach) Bahler.  She also has eight great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Lester and her three brothers:  Donald, Thomas, and Richard Bruring.    A private family service will be held with burial in the Coon Valley Lutheran Cemetery.
