Audrey G. Herold

Audrey G. Herold, 88, of rural Stoddard, went home to be with her Lord Sunday March 1, 2015 at Bethany Riverside in La Crosse. She was born February 20, 1927 in La Crosse to Oscar and Mabel (Anderson) Bakken. She married Ralph Herold on August 23, 1944 at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stoddard. The couple farmed for many years on the Herold home farm at rural Stoddard. Audrey worked at Hillview Nursing Home in La Crosse for many years. She was an active member of Bethany Evangelical Free Church in La Crosse. Audrey enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, reading her bible and gardening.

Survivors include 5 children, Kathy (Leon) Brands of Belvidere, IL, Dennis and Sharon Herold, Richard Herold and Joel (Char) Herold all of Stoddard and Becky (Darrel) Bowman of Bangor; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a sister Lois (Howard) Berra, many nieces and nephews and her special friend Jeanette Manske, who she enjoyed visiting with at Bethany Riverside.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph, grandson Charles, 3 brothers, Roland, Orin and Clifford and 2 sisters Phyllis and Beverly.

Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday March 4, 2015 at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley. Michael Bowman will officiate with private burial in the Chipmunk Coulee Cemetery.
