Arlene Kay Nelson

Arlene Kay Nelson, 65, of Chicago and formerly of Coon Valley died Monday July 25, 2011 in Chicago. She was born to Leonard "Doc" and Nora (Nerison) Nelson on September 3, 1945. She attended Westby Schools and graduated from Central High School in La Crosse in 1963. Arlene graduated from nursing school in Chicago and worked at Cook County Hospital for many years. Later she did home health care.

Survivors include 5 siblings, Verna Stacy of Cashton, Bernice Brisco of Memphis, Tenn., Raymond (Sharon) Nelson of Viroqua, Jeanne Ebli of Coon Valley and Leo Nelson of Hixton; an uncle John (Virginia) Nerison of Coon Valley and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; a niece Lisa Brisco and 3 brothers-in-law Melvin Stacy, Olin Brisco and Ramon Ebli.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday August 6, 2011 at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley. Burial will be in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park, rural La Crosse. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the church or charity of choice.
