Anna Marie Sisbach

Anna Marie Sisbach, 82, of rural Westby, died Sunday October 2, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. She was born October 23, 1933 in the town of Coon, Vernon County to Kelly and Lenora (Gilbertson) Lee. She was baptized and confirmed at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. Anna Marie attended Spring Coulee School and graduated from Westby High School in 1951. She then worked at the Westby Coon Valley State Bank for a of couple years. Anna Marie married John L. Sisbach, Jr. on March 9, 1957 at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. The couple lived in Beloit for 10 years before moving to the town of Coon where they farmed until retiring in 1999.

Anna Marie was an excellent cook and hosted many holiday meals. She was famous for her meatballs, mashed potatoes and gravy. She was a member of the Coon Valley Lutheran Church, WELCA and the Anna Circle. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, reading, canning, baking and listening to Molly B and polka music. Anna Marie was a hardworking farmer's wife who was filled with compassion and had the patience of a saint.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Sherrill Ann Spaude of Clinton, Iowa and Laurie (Duane) Peterson of La Crosse; 2 brothers, Donald Lee and Norman (Marilyn) Lee both of rural Coon Valley and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Jr. on July 19, 2016; a son Daniel in 1973; a son-in-law Randy Spaude, M.D. in 2014; 2 sisters-in-law Mary Stakston and Evelyn Williams and 2 brothers-in-law Allan Stakston and Noah Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday October 6, 2016 at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church with Rev. Mitzi Miyamoto officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be given to the Coon Valley Lutheran Church.
