Allen S. Twinde, age 89, of Chaseburg, WI passed away on Thursday February 12, 2026. He was born to Alvin & Stella (Brohelden) Twinde in 1937. He had a brother & 2 sisters. He graduated from La Crosse Logan High School & then obtained an associate degree in business. He married his wife Sharon (Holthaus) Twinde on September 8, 1962. He was married to Sharon for 61 years prior to her death in 2023. He bought his farm in rural Chaseburg, 53 years ago and together with his wife, they raised his 3 loving daughters and farmed his own crops & herd of beef cows, ponies & chickens. He was a devoted husband, father, & grandpa of 3 grandchildren.
Allen served in U.S. Armed Forces starting in 1957 for 6 years in U.S. Army & Army Reserves. Throughout his military career, he obtained E5 Sergeant rank. He worked as a machinist in Milwaukee & Kenosha. In 1968, he began work at Dairyland Power Cooperative G-3 plant in Genoa, WI as lead mechanic & welder and worked there 25 years until he retired in 1993. He then continued to work on his farm with his animals and raise his own crops.
Allen was a member of Chaseburg American Legion Post 202. He & his family are members of Lower Coon Valley Lutheran Church & he served as past President, church council member, & church grounds/custodian. He taught welding class at WWTI. He also trained ponies & assisted driving 6 pony-hitch with his father-in-law, Donald Holthaus, in Milwaukee, Baraboo & Chicago Circus Parades.
He is survived by his 3 daughters, Lisa Tveitnes (Troy Tveitnes) of Muskego, Julie Twinde of Chaseburg, Vicki Twinde-Javner (Steven) of Stoddard; 3 grandchildren, Belynda Alberte, Tristan & Trinity Javner; his brother Jerry Twinde & sisters, Ruth (Kenny) Conrad & Sandy (Jeff) Asleson, & many other relatives and friends. He was proceeded in death by his wife Sharon; his parents, Alvin & Stella Twinde; his in-laws, Donald & Evelyn Holthaus, his grandparents; 3 brothers-in-law, sister- in-law & his nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Friday February 20, 2026 at the Lower Coon Valley Lutheran Church with visitation at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors by the Chaseburg American Legion. The Seland Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences may be given at selandsfuneralhome.com.
