Arthur Richard Brose

Arthur Richard Brose, 84 of Coon Valley, died Thursday February 1, 2024 at his home. He was born July 11, 1939 to Arthur and Selma (Morkri) Brose in La Crosse. He graduated from Westby High School in 1957 and joined the Army Reserves. Richard married Judy Larson on May 20, 1961 at the Vang Lutheran Church. He worked at Tri State Business Machines for 35 years. Richard was a member of the Coon Valley Lions Club for over 50 years holding many officer jobs, served on the Vernon County Board for 10 years, the Coon Valley Village Board for 10 years and the Coon Valley Park Board. He loved to golf and enjoyed going on bus trips.

Survivors include his wife, Judy of 62 years; son, David (Mindy) of Milwaukee; daughter, Patricia (John) Hubener of Lakeville, MN; 7 grandchildren, Zack, Heather, Caleb, Emma, Trevor, Michael and Carter; 7 great grandchildren, Oliver, Myla, Henry, Bayley, Jude, Nusa and Lido; 2 brothers, Peter (Pam) Brose and Alton (Gloria) Brose; 2 sisters, Dorothy (Donald) Kjelland and Donna Johnson; brothers-in-law, Robert (Jamie) Sueker and Dennis (Judy) Larson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Leif and Sylvia Larson; a sister, Arlene Sueker; a sister-in-law, Sharon Williams; a niece, Cheryl and a brother-in-law, Michael Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday February 6, 2024 at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. Rev. Jim Scaife will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Coon Valley Lutheran Church or a charity of choice.
